How I Got Alley

Read The True Story

My Cozy Cat Thrillers (Books 1-3) all feature my actual cats: Scottie, Tanzy & Alley. Each feline has an original story as to how they came into my life. This is Alley’s story.

This tale begins with my daughter, Crystal. My girl and her boyfriend answered an ad for Tuxedo kittens. Crystal already had a great Tuxedo cat named Capone that she loved so. When the ad featured Tuxie kittens, she couldn’t resist. She adopted an eight week-old black and white girl kitty she named Alley.

In the next few months, Capone and Alley got along quite well, but Crystal and her boyfriend did not. My daughter decided to end it for good and called me up.

She asked if I’d thought about getting another cat. I had Scottie and Tanzy already. I thought she was asking in general not that she wanted me to take the little girl Tuxie, so I said, “Not really.” She hadn’t told me she was breaking up with her boyfriend and planned to move away.

A day later, I was on Facebook and saw Crystal’s post explaining she needed to find a home for Alley. Hoping she hadn’t found a home for the Tuxie yet, I called her. Luckily, she still had Alley, and I said that I’d take her.

I asked what happened, and she told me she was leaving her boyfriend and was moving to the big city, but she was only taking Capone and her two dogs. She didn’t want to leave any animals with her irresponsible ex-boyfriend.

I wanted Alley to go to a good home, and I got my wish by adopting her. Plus, I can’t say no to a cat. Now I had Scottie, Tanzy and Alley. My life was filled with furry joy. I had my very own Tuxedo cat and Alley cat all rolled into one. What more could one cat lover ask for?
